Three possible replacements for an injured Reece Topley that RCB may be inclined towards

Reece Topley hurt his shoulder and as things stand, RCB is most likely heading for Wayne Parnell as a replacement

Royal Challengers Bangalore will be missing out on one of their key names in the upcoming days as Reece Topley who started the tournament with an absolute banger have returned home after dislocating his shoulder while trying to save a couple of runs. He became the second player to be ruled out of IPL 2023 while trying to put in a stunning fielding effort with Kane Williamson being the first.

In a sideline interview during RCB’s game with KKR, Sanjay Bangar said, “Reece, unfortunately, had to go back home because he has been ruled out of the tournament. We tried our best to keep him here, but the treatment and the experts suggest that he is going to be out of action for some time.”

Here are three possible options that RCB may try and go for in place of an injured Reece Topley, particularly with Josh Hazlewood’s availability still in doubts.

#1 Corbin Bosch

A young all-rounder who can carry the roles of both a fine batter and a decent fast bowler can be a crucial name in the ranks of the Royal Challengers. In recent times while playing for the Titans, he has managed to string together a flurry of decent displays both with the bat and the ball.

In all likelihood with Siraj being given the lead role and Siddharth Kaul coming in later, RCB may want someone who can provide them the desired support in the death overs particularly with both the last games proving to be a game-changer in those dying overs.

#2 Lance Morris

Known as the “Wild Thing” Lance Morris can be an absolute dynamite with the cherry in his hands. He can generate some serious pace that will be bringing in a belter of opportunities for the Challengers as that has been a miss since the departure of Hazlewood.

Morris can also make the ball move by a mile and that too in both ways. He can steam in hot at 145 kays, belting those toe-crushers and bumpers alike. Considering his fine run in the West Australian colours, he will be an excellent pick for the Challengers.

#3 Wayne Parnell

The South African all-rounder was instrumental against India when the South Africans toured India last year. Not only was he decent with the ball but his bat also did the talking for him. He can move the ball real well and this can be a challenge for the counterparts in the upcoming games.

As per rumours, RCB is going to go for Wayne Parnell and this will be some run for the seamer who has had his shares of highs and lows in the sub-continent.
