MS Dhoni has suffered a knee injury and he is tending to it

Chennai Super Kings nearly came close to pulling off a win over Rajasthan Royals. However, that wasn’t meant to be the case as Sanju Samson and Co had the last laugh in the tough battle. MS Dhoni did put in a staunch shift at the end, however.

Batting first, Rajasthan Royals posted 175/8 in their quota of 20 overs. Jos Buttler top-scored with 51 runs for the team and in the process, he became the third-fastest player to reach 3000 runs in the history of the IPL.

In response to the target, CSK tried their maximum best to score runs. However, Sanju Samson used his spinners wisely and mounted immense pressure on the CSK batters.

Devon Conway scored a half-century but that wasn’t enough to guide the team to victory. However, CSK captain, MS Dhoni gave absolutely everything in the run-chase. Initially, he struggled to get going.

MS Dhoni scored a quickfire 32 off 17 balls where he composed his innings with the help of one four and three hits over the fence. When CSK required five runs off the last ball, Sandeep Sharma pitched in with a gem of a ball and kept MS Dhoni in check.

Rajasthan Royals won the game by 3 runs at Chepauk Stadium in Chennai. After the game, CSK’s head coach, Stephen Fleming confirmed that MS Dhoni is nursing a knee injury.

Furthermore, he said that MS Dhoni’s struggles were clearly witnessed in some of his movements. He further added that his knee injury is hindering him. Fleming said that MS Dhoni’s fitness has always been very professional before he went on to label MS Dhoni a great player.

Chennai Super Kings have played four games so far this season wherein they won two and lost two. They will take on Faf du Plessis-led Royal Challengers Bangalore at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on April 17 (Monday).
