Suryakumar Yadav continued his red-hot form in the game against Zimbabwe. He became Indian the first batter to complete 1000 runs in the T20I. The right-hander surpassed the landmark of 1000 runs at an average of 43.56 and a strike rate of 184.53 in 2022.

He achieved the feat during his innings against Zimbabwe in the T20 World Cup 2022. Suryakumar came to bat when India was tumbling at 87/2 and was reduced to 101/4. The right-hander then played an innings of high calibre and set the stage on fire.
