“Then why Kohli is not in T20I squad against Sri Lanka” – Twitter reacts as Virat Kohli has 67.8 average and 138.36 strike rate in T20I against Sri Lanka

Former Indian skipper Virat Kohli was recently seen in the two-match Test series against the Bangladesh cricket team. The right-handed batter failed to bring the best out of himself in both games.

The veteran cricketer is yet to end his Test century drought as his last century in Test cricket came against Bangladesh during a day-night pink ball affair against Bangladesh back in 2019.

The senior player is not listed in the upcoming T20I series against Sri Lanka. Apart from him, Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer will not be seen in the three-match T20I series, starting on January 3, Tuesday.

Virat Kohli will be next seen in cricketing action for the three-match ODI series against the Lankans. The first ODI between India and Sri Lanka is slated to be played on January 10 at Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Barsapara, Guwahati, Assam.

Virat Kohli has a superb batting average and strike rate in T20Is against Sri Lanka

Notably, Virat Kohli has a terrific batting record against Sri Lanka, especially in the shortest format of the game. He has been statistically very impressive in numbers against this opposition as he has an average of 67.8 and a scintillating strike rate of 138.36 in T20Is.

Apparently, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) wants the senior players to focus on One-Day Internationals, keeping the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023 in mind as it is slated to be played in India (October to November).

Virat Kohli also boasts pretty good statistics as far as the Twenty20 Internationals are concerned. He recently rose from the ashes by scoring his maiden T20I century against Afghanistan in the Asia Cup 2022.

Notably, he carried his golden touch with the bat by scoring 296 runs in the T20I World Cup 2022 in Australia wherein he smashed four fifties and finished the tournament as the leading run-getter.
