It was absolute madness that sprang forth from the bat of one of the unexpected names across the IPL fabric and that was of Jinks or better known as Ajinkya Rahane who almost single-handedly took the game away from the Mumbai Indians as they sank to their second consecutive defeat of the tournament.

Batting first Mumbai Indians could only manage 157 on the cards as there were no solid displays that stood out to help the cause of the five-times champions. Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan got off to a steady start but their joys were shortlived as Tushar Deshpande and Ravindra Jadeja cleaned up the opening pair.

Once the opening pair was back to the pavilion, it was somewhat of a cakewalk for the Super Kings to try and clean up the remainder of the Mumbai batting order. The hero of the last day, Tilak Varma managed to bat out just 22 runs while Tim David who smashed 31 from 22 gave a glitter of hope to the Indians.

Ravindra Jadeja was the pick of the lot for Chennai Super Kings with figures of 3 for 20. Chennai had a bumpy start as they lost Devon Conway for a duck but Ruturaj Gaikwad was quick to pick up proceedings but in an unlikely support, an all-conquering Ajinkya Rahane took the game away from the Mumbai Indians.

He smashed 61 from 27 balls, an innings that featured 7 fours and 3 sixes. Shivam Dube and Ambati Rayudu managed to bag the remainder of the runs as Chennai Super Kings secured their second win of the season from just 3 games, once again making the fans believe after losing out the opening fixture.

Twitter had their own say about the same as they were delighted to see Jinks back in form and so did they loved watching Chennai scripting two consecutive wins.
