“That’s why IPL is the greatest tournament of all time”, Twitter reacts as Jos Buttler sledges Cameron Green by saying ‘Big auction coming up’

England national cricket team led by Jos Buttler are currently in Australia for the three-match ODI series. Earlier, Jos Buttler and Co beat Pakistan in the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 final to win their second T20 World Cup title.

The ODI series opener between England and Australia took place at Adelaide Oval in Adelaide. Australian captain Pat Cummins won the toss and invited the opposition team to bat first.

The visitors posted 287/9 in their allotted quota of 20 overs. Dawid Malan led the batting attack by example when all other players departed for cheap scores in the first ODI.

Malan top-scored with 134 off 128 balls where he struck as many as 12 fours and 4 sixes to his name. In reply, Australia beat England by six wickets as they chased down the target in 46.5 overs.

Jos Buttler sledges Cameron Green by saying ‘Big auction coming up’

During the first ODI, England skipper and wicketkeeper Jos Buttler hogged the limelight after he took an opportunity to take a dig at Cameron Green by saying “Big auction coming up”. The upcoming IPL 2023 mini auction is slated to be held in Kochi on December 23.

Cameron Green has been one of the consistent performers for Australia of late. Taking his all-round abilities into account, he is considered as the next big thing in international cricket.

Meanwhile, the IPL franchises are keenly monitoring him as well and there are high chances that the all-rounder may get sold for a huge price tag. The 23-year-old all-rounder scored an unbeaten 20 off 28 balls including 3 fours against England.
