‘Split captaincy to split coaching. We came long way’, Twitter erupts after BCCI might go for a separate coach in T20I soon

India have always been a nation that has produced outstanding cricketers over the decades. Be it, batsmen or bowlers, the ones who represent the Indian team have set the bar high and there is no doubt about that.

The fact that the Indian players have been giving it all in the bilateral series is worth applauding. However, that isn’t the case when it comes to the ICC events, taking their performances into account.

Rohit Sharma and Co didn’t execute their plans in the semi-final against England. Jos Buttler and Co won the game by 10 wickets and eliminated India from the marquee event in Australia.

However, since then, there have been talks about the split captaincy in international cricket. As per the sources, the BCCI was considering a separate captain for the shortest format.

Sources stated that Rohit Sharma will continue to remain as the captain in the Test and the ODI format whereas the board is planning to name Hardik Pandya as the new T20I captain.

BCCI might go for a separate coach in T20I soon

Meanwhile, according to Sports Talk, the BCCI might go for a separate coach for T20I cricket. Recently, India’s performance against England in the T20 World Cup semi-final was not pleasing.

Moreover, Rahul Dravid, the current head coach of the Indian cricket team hasn’t really played enough T20Is to comprehend the dynamics of the shortest format of the game.

Perhaps, this is why the BCCI might be on the lookout for a separate coach in T20Is. However, it remains to be seen what the future holds in store for Rahul Dravid with regard to the T20I format.

India are in Bangladesh playing the ODI series. The Men in Blue had a chance to win the first game but Bangladesh players pulled off the ropes from the jaws of the defeat as they beat India by 1 wicket.
