India’s flamboyant batter Suryakumar Yadav has been in the scintillating form of his life. He has been making his presence count on the pitch whenever he comes out to bat for the team.

Be it for Team India or for the Mumbai cricket team, his approach to the game remains the same. He once again proved that he is worth his weight in gold by scoring 95 off 107 balls against the Saurashtra cricket team in the ongoing match of the Ranji Trophy tournament at Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai.

The right-handed batsman who came out to bat at No.3 was under surreal pressure after Saurashtra pacers namely Chetan Sakariya and Chirag Jani dismissed Prithvi Shaw and Yashasvi Jaiswal for 4 and 2.

Meanwhile, Suryakumar Yadav held his nerves and tackled the Saurashtra pacers by applying an ultra-aggressive approach to his game and as a result, he was able to get the better of the opposition.

The star batsman missed out on a well-deserved century by just five runs. He composed his innings with the help of 14 boundaries and a six at a strike rate of 88.79. Sarfaraz Khan also supported the team by scoring 75 runs including seven fours and a six.

The Mumbai cricket team were able to muster 230 runs at the expense of all the ten wickets in the first innings. On the other side of the coin, Dharmendrasinh Jadeja and Yuvrajsinh Dodiya bagged four wickets apiece.

Saurashtra responded with 289 runs in the first innings as captain Arpit Vasavada top-scored with 75 runs including nine boundaries. On the contrary, Shams Mulani bagged four wickets to his name for Mumbai.

The second day’s play came to a close and Mumbai cricket team still have plenty of catching up to do in the second innings as they trail by 59 runs.
