“Should have done this way before” – Twitter reacts as Chetan Sharma steps down as the BCCI chief selector

Chetan Sharma has been in the limelight very recently when he disclosed inside matters or information publicly during a sting operation performed by the news agency, Zee News.

He spoke so much that even the members of the BCCI were not happy with it. Soon after Chetan Sharma’s remarks on the Indian players, a BCCI source clarified that none of the top Indian players communicate with Chetan Sharma.

In fact, Chetan Sharma revealed the reason behind the board’s decision to sack Virat Kohli as ODI captain. He made it clear that the management wanted only one white-ball captain and which is the reason why Virat Kohli was stripped of ODI captaincy.

Meanwhile, Chetan Sharma has resigned as the BCCI chief selector. He made the decision to quit the post after being caught in the latest TV sting operation conducted by Zee News.

He spoke about the issues in Indian cricket regarding the alleged rift between Sourav Ganguly and Virat Kohli to players seemingly taking injections in order to be fit for the games.

Last month, Chetan Sharma was re-appointed as the chairman of selectors. For the record, Chetan Sharma was also part of the Indian national section committee when Virat Kohli was sacked as the ODI skipper.

Virat Kohli also went on to step down as India’s Test skipper. As things stand, Virat Kohli is continuing to deliver goods for the team as a batsman and has recently scored his 74th international century during the third ODI against Sri Lanka.

Virat Kohli is currently part of the ongoing Border Gavaskar Trophy series. He failed to execute his plans in the first Test against Australia in Nagpur. However, he has a great opportunity to end his Test century drought in the ongoing Test match which is currently being played in his home ground (Delhi).
