“Sanju Samson: Chapter 2.0, going,” R Ashwin hails wicketkeeper as a fantastic batter

Sanju Samson has cored 86* and 30* in the two games so far in the series.

Indian off-spinner R Ashwin has lauded his teammate Sanju Samson for showing great temperament and playing maturely. Calling this his 2.0 version, the senior player hailed Sanju as a fantastic batter and lauded him for his knock in the first ODI against South Africa.

“He is an extraordinary talent,” R Ashwin lauds Sanju Samson

Indian batter Sanju Samson has looked phenomenal with the bat in the recent past. The wicketkeeper has been exceptional and batted with maturity in whatever opportunities he has got and has performed consistently.

In the ongoing series against South Africa, Sanju is yet to be dismissed as he registered a score of unbeaten 86 and 30 in the first two games. In the first game in Lucknow, the keeper batter kept the hopes of Indian fans alive when it seemed that there was no chance of winning and almost pulled off the game for his side.

He then continued his good form in the second game as he scored unbeaten 30 runs and helped his side chase the target of around 280 runs easily. Many lauded him for his performances and highlighted the responsible innings he played in both games.

His teammate R Ashwin was also impressed with his performance and hailed him as an extraordinary talent. Speaking in a video posted on his YouTube channel, the senior Indian off-spinner said.

“I believe this would have given him massive confidence. Sanju is a fantastic player and a very good human being. His personality is such that he has got a very calm demeanour. And of course, he is an extraordinary talent. That’s a well-known fact for everyone.

“Sanju Samson: Chapter 2.0, going on,” says R Ashwin

Samson earlier was dropped from the Indian side for his inconsistent performances. However since he made his comeback, he cashed in almost every opportunity and has performed regularly.

Ashwin called this version 2.0 of Sanju Samson and said that he’s only going to rise from here. He said:

“He almost took the game to a stage where he could have pulled it off. Sanju Samson: Chapter 2.0, going on from here will be good.”
