“RCB is 4th here also,” Twitter reacts to re-adjusted budget of IPL franchises after governing council added extra 5 crore INR to every franchises’ purse

Punjab Kings currently have the highest budget after the addition of 5 crore INR, but the purse of the franchises will be re-adjusted later again

As the governing council decided to add an extra budget of 5 crore INR to the purse of every IPL team, the purse of all the teams has now been re-adjusted, and currently, the way it stands, Punjab Kings are at the top with the highest budget of 8.45 crore INR, followed by Chennai Super Kings who have a purse of 7.95 crore INR.

But, this is not the final purse that the franchises will go with into the upcoming mini-auction the next month. The purse will be re-adjusted again when the franchises declare their release, retention, and trade for the next season.

Whichever player a franchise releases, the salary of the player will be added to the re-adjusted purse of the franchise. While if the franchise trades a player without the same value swap for another player, the salary of the incoming player will be deducted from the re-adjusted purse of the franchise. The retention of a player won’t have any effect on the purse of the franchises.

Some IPL franchises would want to go into the mini-auction with a decent purse

The franchises, which didn’t have a great last season, or the franchises who were not happy with the final composition of their squad after the mega auction, would want to go into the mini-auction with a decent purse so that they can re-structure their squad. However, to add enough amount to their purse, the franchises will have to release some players so that the salaries of those players can be added to the franchise’s purse.

Meanwhile, some of the fans saw the funny side of the currently re-adjusted purse and one of the fans commented on Twitter that RCB is not even topping the table of the re-adjusted purse and even in this table, they are stuck mid-way through. Here are some of the other funny Twitter reactions on the re-adjusted purse of IPL franchises –
