Ravindra Jadeja Should Bat Higher For CSK Says West Indies Legend Brian Lara

Former West Indies cricket team captain Brian Lara has opined that the skipper of the Chennai Super Kings team in the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League MS Dhoni should promote his teammate Ravindra Jadeja to bat in the batting order of the Chennai Super Kings team. Yesterday, MS Dhoni batted at number six in the match against the Delhi Capitals.

The right-handed batter did not look in great touch as he stayed in the middle for around ten overs, but could only to manage to add 18 runs to the team’s total after playing 27 deliveries in the yellow jersey. Dhoni failed to hit a single four or a six. For the first time in 12 years, Dhoni played a knock in the league’s history where he faced 25 balls but did not manage to send even one ball outside the boundary line.

My feeling is that Jadeja should, at some point, come a little ahead: Brian Lara

Many cricket fans would know that the former captain of the West Indies cricket team Brian Lara works as a cricket expert for the Star Sports English panel, and after the Chennai Super Kings lost their previous match in the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League to the Delhi Capitals, Lara felt that Ravindra Jadeja should come a little ahead. Here’s what Lara said:

“MS Dhoni is trying to get some form. He is still a little bit slow, still not full into the stride. Not the Dhoni that we know. He will take some solace that he is getting bat on ball. He did not finish things off. My feeling is that Jadeja should, at some point, come a little ahead because he is in good form and key to their batting.”

Ravindra Jadeja played only two balls against Delhi Capitals

Avesh Khan broke the 70-run partnership between MS Dhoni and Ambati Rayudu in the 20th over of the match. It was a little late for Jadeja then, as only five balls were left in the innings.

The all-rounder faced two of them and scored one run. Like Brian Lara said, the in-form player should bat a little higher in the batting order.
