Ravichandran Ashwin Reacts As Jarvo Re-Invades The Pitch In The Ongoing Series

Team India had a slightly better outing on Day 3 of the ongoing Test match at Leeds. The Indians were bowled out for just 78 in the first innings, and then conceded a lead of 354 runs. However, with India’s score reading 215-2, the batting unit seems to have returned to the groove. As much as India’s batting took mention on Day 3, a fan interruption made news again on the day. Interestingly, it was the same fan who invaded the pitch in the Lord’s Test who came back at Leeds. R Ashwin also reacted as Jarvo re-invades the pitch in the ongoing Test series.

India shows grit on Day 3

When India started batting on Day 3, the conditions were slightly overcast, to begin with. However, the batsmen stuck it out in the middle and ensured that English pacers do not find wickets easily as they did in the first innings. Cheteshwar Pujara, who was struggling for form, started on a positive note and remained not-out on 91 at stumps. While Rohit got 59 runs, Kohli also looked confident and is on the brink of his first fifty of the series.

Jarvo re-invades the pitch in the ongoing Test series

In the Lord’s Test, a fan named Jarvo invaded the pitch while India was bowling. He had the number 69 printed on his back, and he tried to convince the security that he was an Indian fielder. He was later pulled out of the park.

At Leeds, too, Jarvo made an appearance on the field. This time, though, he was dressed as an Indian batsman and came in after Rohit Sharma’s dismissal. He tried to convince the security that he was India’s No.4 but he was pulled out again.

R Ashwin was amused with the incident and took to the lighter side of it. In his post-Day tweet, he mentioned the solid performances of the Indian batters and also sneaked Jarvo’s name in it. Later in the tweet, though, he asked Jarvo to put a full stop to his antics. Here is how the Indian spinner reacted to the event:
