Mumbai Indians came into IPL 2023 Auctions with a few spots to fill. However, barring Cameron Green, the team did not make major signings at the event. Nevertheless, the franchise does have a balanced unit for next year. Here, we take a look at the playing 11 of Mumbai Indians for IPL 2023.
Openers: Rohit Sharma (C) and Ishan Kishan (WK)
Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan will be the openers in the playing 11 of Mumbai Indians for IPL 2023. Ishan Kishan has found form and he will be an important part of the playing XI for MI. Of course, as the skipper, Rohit Sharma merits a spot and his form will be key for the franchise.
Middle-Order: Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma and Tristan Stubbs
Last season, SKY had to play at No.4 or No.5 to allow the youngsters play in the top order. However, considering his current form, it would be a loss for MI if SKY does not play at No.3. Tilak Varma will have to take on the spinners in the middle overs and that will be his major task. With Cameron Green in the XI, Dewald Brevis may not get chances often. Therefore, Tristan Stubbs would be better suited to this combination.
All-Rounders: Cameron Green and Tim David
Having purchased him for INR 17.5 Cr, Cameron Green is certain to be in the XI. Tim David and Green will have to finish games for the unit. While Green will obviously provide a few overs with the ball, Tim David’s off-spin would also be necessary for the team’s balance.

Bowlers: Jofra Archer, Kumar Kartikeya, Jasprit Bumrah and Arshad Khan
Jofra Archer and Jasprit Bumrah will form the core of the pace attack in the playing 11 of Mumbai Indians for IPL 2023. Kumar Kartikeya will be backed as the lead spinner and MI has a bit of a problem to fill the No.11 player. There are not many options and hence, Arshad Khan could get a chance. Arjun Tendulkar might also get an opportunity here.
