With IPL 2023 around the corner, we take a look at 3 Australian players who might score the first century in IPL 2023:

Mitchell Marsh

Delhi Capitals batter Mitchell Marsh could be the Australian to score the first century in the IPL 2023. The batter has been in a staggering form, which was quite evident in the ODI series against India. The lanky all-rounder has been going through the purple patch and has been scoring runs consistently for the team. Marsh can do nothing wrong these days as whatever he touched turns into gold. He was in the terrific touch last IPL as well and with the way he’s going these days, he surely can take his side to the title victory. In the 29 IPL games, he has scored 476 runs at a strike rate of 123.32. Delhi Capitals will open their campaign against Lucknow Super Giants on the 1st April.

Glenn Maxwell

Royal Challengers Bangalore batter Glenn Maxwell could be among the Australian players to score the first century in the IPL 2023. The right-hander has been out of the action for a while due to injury and the tournament will be a platform for him to prove why is he the best in the business. Many have criticised him over the last few months and the upcoming IPL will be a platform for him to prove his mettle. Over the years we’ve seen how dangerous Maxwell can be when he has been under scanner. Since the last two seasons, he has been the mainstay of the RCB batting lineup. It is expected that he will set the stage on fire this time around. He has scored 2319 runs in the league at a strike rate of 153.88. RCB will open their campaign against Mumbai Indians on 2nd April.

David Warner

The most successful overseas batter of the IPL, David Warner can also be among the Australian players to score the first century in the IPL 2023. He will have an added responsibility this time around as he will lead Delhi Capitals this time around in the absence of Rishabh Pant. The southpaw always has been at his best when it comes to IPL. He of late has suffered a lot of criticism for his poor form and it’ll be opportunity for him to silence his haters. He has scored 5881 runs in the league at a strike rate of 140.69 and also has 4 tons to his name.
