One of the biggest heartbreaks for a player is not being available to feature for the national cricket team in marquee events. We have seen big players getting ruled out of major events due to injuries.
It is absolutely imperative for the players to look after their bodies such that they can contribute to the national cricket team in long run. Moreover, there are two major mega events that are slated to be held later this year.
The second cycle of the ICC WTC Final between Team India and Australia will be held from June 7 to 11 at The Oval, with June 12 set as the reserve day. On the other hand, the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 will be held in the October-November window.
Before these two events, the sixteenth edition of the Indian Premier League will be staged in India. The IPL 2023 will go all guns blazing on March 31 as CSK will lock horns with GT in the tournament opener at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
BCCI issues stern warning to NCA to look after players’ injuries in a better way
Meanwhile, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has now issued a stern warning to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru to keep a constant tab on the players’ injuries in a better way, according to Sports Tak.
The BCCI official also expressed that it is totally confusing to comprehend how a player can have a second injury while recovering from another injury. The BCCI official, on the condition of anonymity, added that the NCA needs to sort out this mess pretty quickly such that the players are available all the time.
The official also added that the team management has had a series of injuries and which is why they can’t risk many players with main events coming up this year.
Obviously… because IPL is coming up. https://t.co/N0ra1hQscf

ICC needs to give strong warning to BCCI to stop prioritizing franchise cricket over international cricket this way they can not only avoid injuries to players but actually can win ICC trophies.

It's great to see that BCCI is taking player safety seriously. Injuries can not only have a significant impact on a player's career but also their mental and emotional well-being. The NCA has a crucial role to play in ensuring that players are taken care of.

Players lacks match fitness (batting, bowling and fielding) not gym fitness. Most of them are slim and fit but fails whenever play few matches continuously. T20s are hoax for cricketers. Ranji trophy and other 3-4 days matches can help them maintain their match fitness.

NCA is the main reason behind this condition of Indian cricket ! not even a single cricketer comes out 100% fit once they enter NCA
