Following Sri Lanka’s victory against Bangladesh in the current Asia Cup 2022 competition, Maheesh Theekshana made light of the situation by tweeting a witty response on social media.
Mustafizur Rahman and Shakib Al Hasan are world-class bowlers, according to the BCB team director, who said at a press conference on the day before Bangladesh and Sri Lanka’s match in the group stage in Dubai. Sri Lanka does not have any bowlers of such caliber. The bowlers for Bangladesh had a poor day in Dubai yesterday night, as they gave the Sri Lankan batsmen far too many extras. This led to Bangladesh losing the match. They allowed the islanders to have eight wides and four no-balls, although the Sri Lankan squad did not bowl a single wide or no-ball during the whole match.
Sri Lanka ultimately prevailed against Bangladesh in the match’s last over thanks to the extras, which turned out to be the deciding factor.

With their victory against Bangladesh, Sri Lanka secured their spot in the Super Fours phase of the tournament. Tomorrow will mark the beginning of their first match in the Super Fours, in which they will compete against Afghanistan. In an earlier round of the competition, Afghanistan routed Sri Lanka by a score of eight wickets. The Islanders will be eager to get their revenge on that defeat tomorrow.
