Australian media outlet calls DRS broken after the wicket of Usman Khawaja on the Day 1 of the Nagpur Test
The Border-Gavaskar Trophy between India and Australia kick-started on Thursday (9th February). The visitors won the toss and decided to bat first. However, it wasn’t a fruitful outing for them with the bat as they were bundled out for just 177 runs.
The Australian media outlet, Fox Cricket, who on the eve of the first Test criticised BCCI for the pitch, once again racked up controversy and targeted DRS. It was during the second over of the game when Mohammed Siraj bowled a full inswinger that struck Usman Khawaja on the front pad.
Indian players appealed the LBW but the umpire turned their plea down. After a discussion, skipper Rohit referred the decision and Hawkeye showed three red lights, meaning the batter was termed out for just 1 run.
As Khawaja walked back, the Australian media outlet questioned the DRS and expressed their doubts over the ball tracker.
