AB de Villiers, a former batsman for South Africa and the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League, tweeted on Thursday (November 3) that he has checked into the hotel where the Bengaluru team slept during his time with the team.
In light of his recent post, supporters are wondering whether he would rejoin the squad. When the 2021 IPL season ended, De Villiers said he would retire from all cricket. But he subsequently said that he plans to return to RCB in some capacity.
Earlier, the team said that Someone who has declared he would return to RCB has landed in Bengaluru. De Villiers’s tweet followed swiftly on the heels of the RCB’s news.
Concerned fans want to know whether Mr. 360 has made a U-turn on his retirement and is back at RCB. AB de Villiers announced his retirement from RCB last year, making IPL 2022 the first season in which he did not play for the team.
After years together for RCB in the IPL, Virat Kohli and de Villiers became close friends. With de Villiers back at RCB, it seems like Kohli and he will be reunited. However, it is unclear what capacity de Villiers is serving at the moment. It’s safe to say that having De Villiers in the RCB locker room will be a morale booster, since he is cricket and, by extension, IPL, icon. He will help the batters of RCB surely.
Over the years, De Villiers has played some of the finest knocks for Royal Challengers Bangalore. He along with Virat Kohli have been the pillar of the RCB batting lineup.
In a recent interaction, De Villiers said that he is there in Bengaluru to have a chat with RCB about the next year’s IPL. Fans on Twitter can’t keep calm after this news.
