There are complaints that KKR ignores players from West Bengal

In the last few years, there have been very few cricketers from West Bengal who are representing KKR. Talents such as Wriddhiman Saha, Mohammed Shami, Shahbaz Ahmed, and Ishan Porel are playing for other teams. Hence, there have been complaints from coaches and fans of Bengal cricket regarding the same. Wriddhiman Saha also took one question regarding this.

Speaking on Sportskeeda, when asked whether KKR ignores players from Bengal, the veteran said, “You need to see if KKR’s scouts and management have enough faith in Bengal players. Maybe they don’t believe that Bengal players can do well.”

KKR could target some good players from their base

In recent years, West Bengal has actually done pretty well in domestic cricket. Hence, there is no dearth of talent in the state. Going forward, KKR can target a few good players from their base. Some of the options include Abhimanyu Easwaran, Abhishek Porel, Mukesh Kumar, etc.

KKR anyways has to change their squad for IPL 2023. The team did not do well in IPL 2022 and will be looking at the next auctions for a makeover. As part of this rebuild, they can try to satisfy the home fans by procuring cricketers from West Bengal.
