Lungi Ngidi’s tweet has left the Chennai fans worrying
Out of all the woes that have stricken Chennai Super Kings in the ongoing edition of the fray, a new one circling Lungi Ngidi has been bubbling on the horizon. Chennai has so far only managed to wring out two victories out of their six games. Unfortunately, their foreigners’ squad hasn’t really been able to claw the surface like the way they were expected. Watson and Du Plessis have been exceptions while Sam Curran has exhibited spasmodic bursts of brilliance but in order for them to hang in the contention, it will need something more than ordinary.
Their drubbing at the hands of KKR has unspooled a Pandora’s Box for the management who is still to map the exact events that has so far dented Chennai in one of their most woeful campaigns. While the situation on the field is spiralling out of control for the Yellow Army, the scenario off the field is even more dreadful.
One of their star-campaigners of the 2018 season, Lungi Ngidi has left an enigmatic tweet that has insinuated the fact that he wishes to part ways with the three-time IPL champions. Going by the latest tweet, it is surmised that Ngidi isn’t really pleased with the ongoing state of affairs in the Chennai super Kings squad.
The post from Lungi Ngidi that left everyone baffled
On Friday night, Ngidi posted a cipher that cited, “There’s a lot of bad things that they wishing on me.” Now the question that looms large is what exactly the context of this post is. Two probable solutions have been worked out. One of which pertains to the fact that he isn’t happy with the way he has been treated after he supported the Black Lives Matter campaign for Cricket South Africa.
Secondly, it is believed that it may simply be an excerpt from rap-artist, Drake’s song “God’s Plan”. The second theory sounds much more convincing considering the fact that he has recently been posting a few pop song lyrics on his social media handle.
Instead of his tweet making the headlines, what did grab the spotlight was the subsequent reaction. A user commented on his post, “You deserve a better IPL team bro”.
Now this comment seems extremely toothless in the first place, just a well-wishing comment that came from one of his admirers. However, what followed thereafter led to a lot of questions being posed. Ngidi liked the comment.
Though no responses have been drafted by the CSK management as of now, yet it is speculated that the South African fast bowler wants out of the Yellow brigade using the mid-season transfer window.
However, in order for this to happen, he will have to apply for a NOC from the CSK management and it is still a questionable fact that whether Chennai will let the youngster go to his desired location.
Chennai Super Kings rode on this youngster’s performance to lift the hallowed trophy in 2018, however, a side-strain ruled him out of the tournament in 2019. He is available for this year’s fray but then his performance so far has been questionable.
