Jaydev Unadkat reacts after not getting place for the Sri Lanka tour

The Board of Control for Cricket in India announced the Indian squad for their upcoming Sri Lanka tour few days back. The side featured the likes of many of young guns who have showcased well in the Indian Premier League. However, there are few cricketers who couldn’t make the final mark.

Jaydev Unadkat has been the one such star who failed to make in India’s 2nd string side. The left arm pacer have been performing steadily well in domestic circuit. Apart from this, his experience can also come handy as he can lead the bowling attack well.

But sadly the selectors sidelined him as they went on with Chetan Sakariya as the left arm pace option. Sakariya made in IPL debut in the year 2021 itself. This decision has created a strong impact for Unadkat.

He took to his Twitter handle to express the sadness. The tweet included a long message from the cricketer. You can watch that tweet here:

I will keep fighting till the end: Jaydev Unadkat

The main paragraph which he stated was, “At this point in my career, with all the useful experience that I’ve fortunately gathered, I’m only going to appreciate what comes my way and keep fighting till the very end”. (and that’s not gonna be soon, sure!)

He further went on to add that he will not lose the hope and keep working hard till the end. The pacer is full of hope that he will get the desired chances in future.

The pacer had a good Ranji season last year as he concluded the tournament by being the leading wicket taker. He bagged the total of 67 wickets in that season and was hoping to get his international call.

The first half of IPL 2021 was a mediocre for him as he just played 4 matches. It would be worth watching to see how he performs in the second half which is all set to take place in UAE.
