Dinesh Karthik fails to set the stage on fire against South Africa in T20 World Cup 2022
Since the IPL 2022, Dinesh Karthik has done nothing wrong. The keeper batter set the stage on fire in the tournament and made comeback in the Indian side as well on the back of his performances.
He played well for India in the build-up to the T20 World Cup 2022 and on many occasions gave India staggering finishes to help them end their innings on high. With him in great form, many backed him to perform well for India in the tournament as well.
However, this hasn’t been the case till now as in two matches, he has failed to perform. In the game against Pakistan, he had a perfect opportunity to become the hero and win the game for his side. But he succumbed to pressure and perished for a low score to put India in trouble.
He didn’t get the opportunity to bat in the game against the Netherlands. But it was again a perfect platform for him against South Africa as the top-order collapse brought him early into the crease. Karthik failed to get going as he struggled for most of the time and could manage only 6 runs in 15 balls.
