Royal Challengers Bangalore are locking horns with Punjab Kings in the 27th match of the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League. Moreover, the game is taking place at Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali.

Royal Challengers Bangalore are playing their sixth game of this season. Having played five games so far, they won two games and lost the rest of the three games. On the other hand, Punjab Kings have also played five games so far.

Notably, they have won three games and lost the other two games. It will be quite interesting to see which team will come out on top this time around in the battle.

Virat Kohli captains RCB against Punjab Kings

Meanwhile, in what comes as huge news to RCB fans, Virat Kohli has returned as RCB captain in the ongoing game against Punjab Kings. Post the IPL 2021 season, Virat Kohli stepped down as the captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Faf du Plessis has been appointed the regular full-time captain. However, the veteran won’t take the field today against Punjab Kings owing to a bruised rib but he will be turning up as an impact player in the game.

Faf du Plessis will be replaced by seamer Vyshak Vijaykumar at the innings break. Since the regular skipper is not playing, Virat Kohli has decided to captain RCB against Punjab Kings. So far, Virat Kohli has led Royal Challengers Bangalore in 140 matches. Under his captaincy, RCB won 64 and lost 69 games.
