The New Zealand allrounder Jimmy Neesham has been so impressed with Jos Buttler’s batting for Rajasthan Royals in the ongoing IPL that he has included him in the list of 4 “absolute top tier” players he has seen and worked up close.
The other three names that are there in the top tier list of Neesham are his current New Zealand captain Kane Williamson, his former New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum and the West Indies captain Kieron Pollard.
Jos Buttler has scored two hundreds in one IPL season and he is not the first batsman to do so. There have been batsmen who have done it before him as well, but the level of strokeplay that Buttler has shown this season has been incredible, both against pace and spin.
I’ve had the pleasure of watching some pretty special players up close during my career. The absolute highest tier: Williamson, McCullum, Pollard.
I’m adding Buttler tonight.@rajasthanroyals

Twitter users were surprised that Jimmy Neesham didn’t name AB de Villiers in his list
When Neesham was queried by the Twitter users how Pollard is there is his absolute top tier list and not AB de Villiers who has probably been the best overseas batsman to have ever played in the IPL, Neesham answered that he is only counting players whom he has played with and he has never played with AB de Villiers.
I’ve never played with AB https://t.co/uWQXrPLZJq

Jimmy Neesham was also asked if Pollard has really played any knock of note in the IPL which has left people awestruck, the New Zealand allrounder reminded the Twitter user of the knock that Pollard played in the game against CSK in the first leg of the IPL last season, where he almost single-handedly chased down a target of 220 runs for Mumbai Indians despite them losing some early wickets.
Mumbai v Chennai at Delhi last season might be the most ridiculous innings I’ve ever seen. https://t.co/9peIrp8zyh

Jimmy Neesham hasn’t had the opportunity to play too many games for Rajasthan Royals this season as Rajasthan already has some top class overseas players in their XI. The left-handed batting allrounder has played just one game in the absence of Trent Boult and has failed to make a mark.
