When it comes to power hitting then Dinesh Karthik is the name who is in talks of every cricket corner nowadays due to his flamboyant and consistent batting. The Ex-Indian captain Kapil Dev has put his remarks on the furious Batting of Dinesh Karthik, he said that this veteran 36-year-old is far ahead of the pinch hitters of the young generation like Rishabh Pant, Ishan Kishan, and Hardik Pandya. Dinesh Kartik is at his best in this 15th edition of the Indian Premier League and which is the thing that forced the Indian selectors to put him in the squad for the South African series.
He didn’t show his sailing form in this series but one or two matches didn’t decrease his extraordinary hitting skills. Kapil Dev told Uncut, “If we talk about consistency currently, Dinesh Karthik is far ahead of these youngsters. Ishan Kishan has, I think, come under pressure. Maybe it’s the pressure of the high price that he garnered at the IPL auction. I have never got so much money so I will not be able to say.
“I don’t think Dinesh Karthik has surpassed Rishabh Pant in T20s. But this time, he has done so well that he forced selectors to not ignore him. Pant is a youngster who has a lot of cricket left, then there is Karthik who has loads of experience. The more said about Karthik the less. He started before [MS] Dhoni and is still continuing”.
Later he talked about Sanju Samson, “I am disappointed with Sanju Samson. He is so talented. He does well in one or two matches and then he does not do anything. If you talk about wicketkeepers, they’re all almost the same. But if you talk about being the better batter, on a given day all four can win you matches”.
