“Teams will only get better by playing against the big teams” – Twitter reacts after Aakash Chopra reacts to Tamil Nadu’s humongous win over Arunachal Pradesh

The ongoing edition of the Vijay Hazare Trophy tournament saw a crazy one-sided contest between Tamil Nadu and Arunachal Pradesh. During the game, Tamil Nadu became the first team to score 500+ runs in the 50-over format.

Tamil Nadu cricket team stunned the cricket fraternity by posting a humongous total against Arunachal Pradesh. The TN openers namely Sai Sudharsan and N Jagadeesan tore the bowlers apart by playing a fearless brand of cricket.

Both the batsmen showcased a lot of intent by scoring sixes and fours at will. The openers added 416 runs for the opening wicket before Techi Doria dismissed Sai Sudharsan for 154 runs.

Sudharsan constructed his innings with the help of 19 boundaries and 2 maximums at a strike-rate of 150.98. On the other hand, N Nagadeesan was the pick of the batters for Tamil Nadu as he batted extremely well.

He went on to score a stupendous 277 off just 141 balls where he hit a flurry of 25 boundaries and 15 sixes to his name, at a strike-rate of 196.45. On the other hand, Arunachal Pradesh hardly showed intent in the chase.

They were bowled out for a mere 71 and thus Tamil Nadu scripted a biggest win in List-A cricket. Tamil Nadu cricket team won the game by an unbelievable margin of 435 runs.

After the game, Aakash Chopra took to his Twitter handle and wrote that it couldn’t be correct seeing a game like this. He further added that it appears like a national team playing against a Village Team.

The former Indian cricketer further added that there is nothing against the performers because it’s not their fault if their opponents are weak. He further added, “But what purpose does it serve to have this sorta contest?”
