Team India’s hopes of winning their second T20 World Cup was crushed after they were humiliated by England cricket team in the second semi-final at Adelaide Oval in Adelaide.

Rohit Sharma and Co were slapped with a 10-wicket defeat by England. Meanwhile, India are in New Zealand to play the limited-overs series comprising three T20Is and three ODIs.

The tour will kick-start with the T20I series from November 18 onwards. Both teams do have all their bases covered and it remains to be seen which team has their say in the first game.

Meanwhile, the Board of Control for Cricket in India appointed Hardik Pandya as the stand-in captain for the three-match T20I series against the New Zealand cricket team.

The interim skipper addressed the reporters at the pre-match press conference. During the interaction, he expressed his disappointment after the team’s exit from the showpiece event.

However, he went on to add that they need to keep moving forward as professionals and sort out the woes, pick lessons on the go, which is the only way forward. Meanwhile, Hardik Pandya also added that plenty of opportunities will be given to a lot of players ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024.
