“How’s this for a delivery”- Grant Elliott posts video of unplayable delivery from NZ vs BAN T20I

The New Zealand vs. Bangladesh T20I series got underway yesterday with the first T20I match at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka, and there was an unplayable delivery that earned everyone’s attention. The Bangladesh cricket team bowled New Zealand out for just 60 runs, their joint-lowest total in T20I cricket history. Only two batsmen from the New Zealand cricket team, captain Tom Latham and middle-order batsman Henry Nicholls could touch double digits.

None of the batsmen from the Blackcaps team could touch the 20-run mark. Mustafizur Rahman was the most successful bowler from the Bangladesh cricket team. The left-arm fast bowler scalped three wickets and conceded only 13 runs. Nasum Ahmed, Shakib Al Hasan and Mohammad Saifuddin picked up two wickets each, while Mahedi Hasan took one wicket.

Bangladesh defeated New Zealand comfortably, but there was one more big talking point from the match

New Zealand could manage only 60 runs in the first innings at the Shere Bangla National Stadium. Chasing 61 to win their first-ever T20I match against the New Zealand cricket team, the Bangladesh cricket team lost early wickets as well. Openers Naim Sheikh and Liton Das returned to the pavilion after scoring a solitary run.

Shakib Al Hasan then played a mature knock of 25 runs, while experienced batsmen Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah completed the formalities. Bangladesh took 15 overs to chase the target of 61 runs. Eventually, they won the match by 7 wickets.

Grant Elliott shared a video of an unplayable delivery from the match

Former New Zealand all-rounder Grant Elliott posted a video clip from the match between Bangladesh and New Zealand that happened yesterday. In that video, a delivery bowled by New Zealand cricket team’s spinner Rachin Ravindra took a sharp turn. It was unplayable for even the best batsman in the world. Mahmudullah had just come out to bat in the middle and it was the first delivery that he faced. His expression after seeing the delivery says it all.

“Never easy in Bangladesh! Watching the BLACKCAPS batters struggling in foreign conditions. How’s this for a delivery though? #turnandbounce,” Grant Elliott captioned the video clip that he posted on Twitter yesterday.
