Things are getting intense for the final of the ICC World Test Championship 2023. The summit clash is expected to take place from June 7 to 11 at the Oval and with just a few series left in the cycle, we are still unsure of who will be the two teams that will play the summit clash. Australia, South Africa, Sri Lanka and India are in contention but it’s fair to say that the table has drastically opened and there’s an outside chance for England as well.
Here is how England can qualify for the 2023 WTC Final after Australia’s 2-0 series win against South Africa
South Africa’s 2-0 series loss against Australia has opened the door for England to qualify for the final of the World Test Championship. However, they don’t have a direct chance as they are dependent on the other results to go their way.
England is currently placed fifth on the points table with 10 wins to their names with 46.7%. They have a two-match series left against New Zealand, which will be played from the 16th to the 28th of February. They first need to win the series.

They would then be hoping for Australia to beat India 4-0 in the upcoming Border Gavaskar Trophy. After that, they would be wanting West Indies to win at least a game against South Africa or draw the series.
The Ben Stokes-led side would also want New Zealand to whitewash Sri Lanka. If this happens, then England will be through and will most likely face Australia in the final in June.
England’s schedule for the next Tests
England has been dominant in the Test series. They will face New Zealand in the two away Test series. The first game will be played on 16th February in Bay Oval followed by the second game to be played on 24th February at Basin Reserve.
