“He could have been a better option,” Harbhajan Singh highlights areas Australia lacked in the first two games against India

India is leading the series by the margin of 2-0.

Former Indian off-spinner has highlighted the areas Australia lacked in the first two games against India. He said that the visitors looked empty and they have played Left-arm spinner Ashton Agar from the first game.

“Australia played two off-spinners, which was a big mistake,” Harbhajan Singh on visitor’s woes in India

Things didn’t go the way Australian Cricket Team would’ve wanted in the series against India. They were at the receiving end of an inning and 132-run thrashing in Nagpur and things were even worse for them in Delhi, where they suffered a 6-wicket loss.

They for the fourth consecutive time have lost the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and it’s fair to say that they have looked insecure on this tour. Their injury woes too have troubled them a lot but one cannot ignore the poor decisions they have made.

One of the poor decisions they made was not giving Ashton Agar a chance in the first two games considering the struggle of Indian batters against left-arm spinners. To worsen things more they sent him back home to play the domestic game. In 5 games so far he has picked 9 wickets.

Harbhajan Singh too highlighted this as Australia’s biggest mistake. Speaking in a video posted on his YouTube channel, he said: “The Australian team looks slightly empty. Left-arm spinner Ashton Agar has been released. I think he should’ve played from the first game. He could have been a better option. Australia played two off-spinners, which was a big mistake. Agar is a talented bowler.”

“They have accepted that the results will be 4-0,” Harbhajan Singh on Australia’s body language

Harbhajan Singh further went on to say that the result of the last two games will same as the first two matches. He added that Australia has accepted that the results will be 4-0.

“Team India are 2-0 ahead in the series. They played very well by using home advantage in their favor. The result will be the same in the third Test because India are a strong team. Australian players are leaving one by one. They have accepted that the results will be 4-0.

The third Test between India and Australia will be played from 1st to 5th March in Indore.
