On August 28, 2022, the Indian cricket team will compete against Pakistan in the Asia Cup. Reetinder Singh, a former player for India, believes that all-rounder Hardik Pandya would be the man to look out for during this match.
The all-round talent of the 28-year-old has been a huge asset to the side as he has made a stunning return to international cricket. Hardik also earned the Player of the Series award in the Twenty20 Internationals that were played against England, and he has recently shown that he is a true wicket-taker.

What did Reetinder Singh Sodhi say about Hardik Pandya?
When asked about the current form of the all-rounder, Sodhi provided the following response to India News Sports:
“I have the impression that Hardik might play a crucial role in the match between India and Pakistan. Recently, he has been playing at an incredible level, and his return to the team has been quite successful. You may speak about players like Rohit, Virat, and Babar, but you shouldn’t discount the possibility that Hardik Pandya will influence the game.”
Two of the top bowlers in the world at the moment, Jasprit Bumrah and Shaheen Afridi, won’t be a part of the Asia Cup owing to injury. Rajkumar Sharma, who has been Virat Kohli’s coach since he was a youngster, thinks it is sad since the pair would have made the match more exciting.
"We missed Hardik Pandya really badly last year in T20 World Cup when he couldn't bowl. It makes a massive diffrence. There is no one close to him when it comes to the quality that he possesses at that number. I think he is extremely important player for India." – Ravi Shastri

The 57-year-old made a sarcastic remark, adding that batters from both nations would let out a sigh of relief if they found out about the news.
He remarked that: “It is a terrible shame that none of them (Bumrah or Shaheen) will be participating in the game. They would have posed a challenge to the batters by attacking with length and pace, and they would have also gotten movement.”
He added: “I believe batters on both sides are probably feeling a little bit of relief right about now. However, the game will still be a significant one, and people from all over the globe will be paying attention to it.”
