“Gravity less man”, Twitter reacts as Virat Kohli takes a blinder to dismiss Shakib Al Hasan

India might not win the first match of their ongoing 3-match ODI series against Bangladesh, but they have surely had some positive takeaways so far. One of them being the grit with which their bowlers are playing. Even in the T20 World Cup, it seemed like our bowlers easily lost all their motivation in tough situations. However, in this match against Bangladesh, India have already sort of lost this match but it seems like they will try till the very last ball to win this match and that is definitely a good sign.

One of the other positive takeaways from this match for India was the performance of the players in the fielding department. One particular catch by Virat Kohli in the second innings that forced Shakib Al Hasan to depart was indeed phenomenal. Besides being one of a kind, it was also a big wicket for the Indian team. Shakib Al Hasan is undoubtedly the biggest threat in the Bangladeshi team, and picking up his wicket reduces their strength by a great deal.

Talking about India’s chances in the match, the match is still going on and India might end up winning it but the chances of that happening are very slim. Thus, we should not even hope for that.

However, as mentioned earlier, the Indian bowlers surely tried their best. Washington Sundar picked up 2 big wickets while Mohammad Siraj and Deepak Chahar got a wicket each. This match marks the return of Deepak Chahar and Shardul Thakur in India’s ODI setup and so far they have been impressive (at least in bowling). India will have to count on these players in the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023 and thus it is of utmost importance that they keep on performing consistently.

It will be interesting to see what changes team India make in their playing XI in the second match though.
