Given how well he has been batting as of late, former New Zealand cricketer Scott Styris feels it is going to take a gem delivery to get Pakistan’s captain Babar Azam out at the forthcoming Asia Cup in 2022.
Styris believes that the tactic of trying to get Babar out of strike could not be successful since the batter is aware of the ruse. Styris lauded the performance of the Pakistani batter, stating that he is now the best player in his position in international cricket. These comments were made by him as he was being interviewed on the Sports18 program titled “Sports Over The Top.”

What did Scott Styris say about Babar Azam?
Styris elaborated as follows: “I’m not so sure (on how to get Babar Azam out). If India were to win, I believe you could argue that any other team could challenge them by saying, “I’ll give you 16 Babar Azams, and then you’re out.” They were willing to take it every day of the week. That’s how talented he is. He is the best batsman in the world right now. Give him a single, which will take him off strike, and then bowl at the batter who is at the opposite end. This is what you should aim to achieve. And I don’t believe that to be anything novel. That has been around for at least a decade, and maybe even two or three decades.”
