The fourth Test between India and Australia is all set to take place from 9th March in Ahmedabad. The series currently stands at 2-1 with the hosts in the lead. With just a few days remaining for the last game of the series, Pat Cummins has been ruled out of the game.

Cummins after the second game rushed back to home due to a family illness and was expected to return for their third Test. But things at his home didn’t go well as he missed the game and continue staying at the home during the fourth game as well.

This means that Steve Smith will continue leading the team in the last game. The batter did an exceptional job as a skipper in the Indore Test and captained the side staggeringly well to stage a comeback. His sensational captaincy saw the visitors beating the hosts by 9 wickets.

Smith would be hoping for the same result in the last game as well and would want to draw the series. Although he produced a staggering captaincy effort, but he failed to get going with the bat. He would be looking to contribute with the bat as well. The right-hander notably has a staggering record as a skipper as he has an average of 67 as a captain in Test cricket.
