Babar Azam is the captain of the Pakistan national cricket team across all three formats (Tests, ODIs and T20IsI of the game. However, under his guidance, Pakistan failed to raise their standards when it mattered the most.

Recently, the Pakistan cricket team hit a new low as they lost four consecutive Tests on the trot at home for the first time in history. Fans questioned Babar Azam’s tactics that were to no avail in the three-match Test series against the England cricket team.

As a batsman, Babar Azam has lived up to his reputation but hasn’t really as a captain, which has been a major drawback, not just for him but for Pakistan cricket.

Even the previous captains of Pakistan didn’t lose four home Tests in a calendar year but Babar Azam has an infamous record of losing four home Tests in a row.

Before hosting England in the Test series, Pakistan hosted Australia in the three-match Test series. The first two Tests ended in a draw before Australia won the third and final Test against the hosts.

Aussies won the third Test and also won the series by 1-0, which also hampered Pakistan’s hopes of qualifying for the WTC final. Pakistan lost the first Test against England by 74 runs at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Rawalpindi.

On the other hand, they lost the second Test match against England by 26 runs at Multan Cricket Stadium, Multan and also lost the Test series in a disappointing fashion.

Although both teams had their say in the game, England were superior in clutch moments of the game than Pakistan and ended up winning the second Test and the series.

Babar Azam and Co had a chance to steer clear of a whitewash at home but they failed to take the assignment seriously as they lost the game by 8 wickets.
