Kolkata Knight Riders crossed swords with Punjab Kings in the recently-concluded game at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Punjab Kings’ captain Shikhar Dhawan won the toss and preferred to open the face of the blade first.

In response, Kolkata Knight Riders largely benefitted from the services of Nitish Rana, Andre Russell and Rinku Singh in the run-chase. The epic run-chase did keep the fans on the edge of their seats.

PBKS bowlers tried their maximum best to stop the KKR batters but as it turned out, they couldn’t restrict the opposition. Nitish Rana chipped in with 51 off 38 balls including six fours and a six.
On the other hand, Andre Russell bloomed at the right time for KKR as he smashed a surreal 42 off 23 balls with the help of three fours and three sixes to his name. He nearly finished the game for KKR before he was run out in the penultimate ball in the run-chase.
When 2 runs were required off the last ball, Rinku Singh turned out to be the hero for KKR as he scored the winning runs in the form of a boundary off Arshdeep Singh. KKR beat PBKS by five wickets.
