Fans on Twitter reacted as Pakistan is all set to host New Zealand for 5 ODI and 7 T20Is from 14th April to 7th May. They took a jibe at the Asian team, saying that they will play against New Zealand B because their main players will be at the IPL and they will still lose.
Pakistan to host New Zealand for 5 ODI and 5 T20Is
Pakistan Cricket Team is all set to host New Zealand for the seven-match T20I series followed by the five-match ODI series followed by in April and May. This will be Black Caps’ second visit to Pakistan this year. They played the Test series earlier this year and drew the series.
New Zealand’s tour will kick start with a seven-match T20I series. The first game will be played on the 14th April followed by second, third and fourth games to be played on the 15th, 17th and 20th April respectively. The first four games will be played in Karachi.
The focus will then shift to Lahore, where the final match will be played. The fifth game between Pakistan and New Zealand is slated to take place on 24th April. After the T20Is, the ODIs will begin in Lahore from the 26th April.
The second game will be played at the same venue on 30th April whereas the 3rd, 4th and 5th ODIs will be played in Rawalpindi on 3rd May, 5th May and 7th May respectively.
New Zealand is likely to send a second-string squad as they have been granted NOC by their cricketing board to take part in the IPL. The likes of Kane Williamson, Michael Bracewell, Tim Southee, Trent Boult, Devon Conway, Jimmy Neesham, Mitchell Santner and others will be engaged in the league.
