Aakash Chopra names 6 Indian players who can fetch big money in IPL 2022 mega auction

Aakash Chopra thinks some Indian players released by their franchises will bring good value to other teams

Aakash Chopra has named 6 Indian players who have been released by their respective franchises, but can fetch big money in the IPL 2022 mega auction because of the skill-set that they provide. Top of Aakash’s list are the two allrounders Hardik Pandya and Harshal Patel who were part of Mumbai Indians and RCB respectively in the last IPL, but will be available in the mega auction now.

While Hardik holds a very strong possibility of being signed as a draft pick by one of the new franchises before the auction itself, he might end up as one of the costliest players ever, if he isn’t picked in the draft and he lands in the auction. Not only can Hardik contribute in two key departments, he also has the skillset to bat at the top as well as in the middle order, a skillset that not too many batsmen possess.

Harshal Patel, while he is also an allrounder, his skillset is a bit different as he is more of a bowling all-rounder. However, his biggest strengths are his variations, which made him one of the most lethal death bowlers in the league last season. Since Harshal is a domestic option for the franchises, they will go after him because if he is in the XI, it allows the management to fill the 4 overseas slots with other profiles, rather than a death bowler.

Aakash Chopra thinks the wicket-taking ability of Chahar brothers will make them expensive buys

Next on the list of Aakash Chopra, which he shared on his YouTube channel, are the two Chahar brothers. Both Chahar brothers are bowlers, but are handy with the bat too, particularly Deepak Chahar who only recently played a match-winning cameo for India at Eden Gardens against New Zealand.

With the ball, the elder Chahar, which is Deepak, is a genuine swing bowler, while the younger Chahar, which is Rahul, is a leg spinner and both are genuine wicket-taking and match-winning options.

Apart from the above-mentioned four players, Aakash Chopra is backing Ravichandran Ashwin and Shikhar Dhawan to go big in the auction as well, simply because of how experienced and reliable, they are. According to Aakash, Shikhar Dhawan has become the kind of batsman now whom a team can easily bank on to have a 500-600 run season at the top of the order.
