With two new teams introduced in IPL, the role of an uncapped player has increased. Hence, these days, even uncapped players go for a big sum at the auctions. Yet, there are a few teams that have such an experienced core that they could field a strong playing XI without requiring the help of any uncapped cricketer. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of two teams that can field a strong XI without any uncapped cricketer for IPL 2024.
Note: We have considered the starting XI and not any Impact Players.
1) Chennai Super Kings
Likely playing XI: Ruturaj Gaikwad, Devon Conway, Ajinkya Rahane, Shivam Dube, Daryl Mitchell, Ravindra Jadeja, MS Dhoni (C&WK), Shardul Thakur, Deepak Chahar, Matheesha Pathirana and Maheesh Theekshana
CSK has always liked experienced cricketers and this is the same for IPL 2024, as well. The hiring of Shardul Thakur has allowed CSK to not depend one someone like Tushar Deshpande.
Yet, CSK has some fine uncapped cricketers such as Sameer Rizvi and Mukesh Choudhary. The team will surely make use of these cricketers. However, it shows the strength of the squad that they could do well even without the presence of these players.
2) Mumbai Indians
Likely playing XI: Ishan Kishan (WK), Rohit Sharma, Tilak Varma, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya (C), Tim David, Mohammad Nabi, Gerald Coetzee, Jasprit Bumrah, Piyush Chawla and Nuwan Thushara.
Mumbai Indians is one of the teams that can field a strong XI without any uncapped cricketer for IPL 2024. In Akash Madhwal, Vishnu Vinod and Kumar Kartikeya Singh, MI has some fine uncapped players.
However, yet, Mumbai Indians can have a strong playing XI without including any of these players. Such is the strength of the core of the side. Hence, they are one of the clear favourites to lift the trophy in IPL 2024.
