Royal Challengers Bangalore Women led by Smriti Mandhana got off to the worst start in the ongoing edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2023. They were the only team that lost four games in a row.

Smriti Mandhana and Co started their campaign with a defeat over Delhi Capitals Women. RCB Women lost the first game by 60 runs at Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai. They locked horns with Mumbai Indians Women in the second game at the same venue.

Mumbai Indians Women won the game by nine wickets as RCB Women lost two games on the trot. After that, RCB Women lost the third game against Up Warriorz as the latter won the match by 11 runs in Mumbai.

Delhi Capitals Women defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore Women by six wickets. With that defeat, RCB Women were the first and only team to lose four games in a row in the WPL 2023.

Virat Kohli reckons RCB Women still have a 1% chance to qualify for playoffs

After losing four games in a row, RCB Women finally opened their account with a win over UP Warriorz. RCB Women beat UP Warriorz by 5 wickets at Dr DY Patil Sports Academy, Navi Mumbai.

Meanwhile, former RCB captain, Virat Kohli is of the opinion that RCB Women still have a 1% chance to qualify for the playoffs. He further added that RCB Women need to convert 1% to 10% and then to 30%.

If RCB Women approach the upcoming games with this mentality, something magical might happen according to Virat Kohli. Even though nothing happens, Virat Kohli said it is important to walk with heads high after 3 games.

Furthermore, the former RCB captain said it is very important to build character in players going forward into the next season of the Women’s Premier League. RCB Women will lock horns with Gujarat Giants Women in the upcoming game at Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai on March 18.
