“The worst thing is it seems that teams are using it as a deliberate planned way to get a wicket” -Mark Waugh reacts on Mankading getting used as a way to pick up wickets

Pakistan’s fast bowler by the name of Zaib-un-Nisa made the headlines after she ran out Rwanda batswoman during the ongoing edition of the U-19 Women’s T20 World Cup tournament.

This very incident took the cricket fraternity by storm, thus leading to several views or opinions. Mankading has been the most-talked-about subject in the cricketing fraternity for the last few years.

The batter often gets the advantage while trying to back up far from the crease and by doing so, it helps the batter to take the extra run in the process. In this case, the bowler has every right to run out the batter if s/he is trying to back up from the crease.

Mark Waugh reacts after Zaib-un-Nisa runs out Rwanda’s batter

During the fifth match of the U-19 Women’s T20 World Cup tournament between Pakistan Women U19 and Rwanda Women U19, Zaib-un-Nisa ran out the batter at the non-striker’s end.

This incident triggered the former cricketers to chip in with their opinions. Among them, Mark Waugh posted a bold tweet on the Mankading dismissal and seemingly, he is not in favour of the dismissal in the first place.

The former Australian cricketer added that the worst thing about Mankading is that the teams are using it as a deliberately planned method to get a wicket. Mark Waugh’s tweet went viral in no time on the internet.

Meanwhile, the former Indian fast bowler, Venkatesh Prasad also had an interesting take on the dismissal, while responding to Mark Waugh’s tweet on the micro-blogging Twitter portal.

Venkatesh Prasad chipped in with a sharp response to Mark Waugh by adding that bowlers planning to get a batter out by legal way of dismissal is the worst thing.

On the other hand, Venkatesh Prasad sarcastically highlighted that the batter taking an unfair advantage by not staying back in the crease is the best thing.
