India’s fast bowler Umran Malik has been listed in both white-ball squads for the upcoming home series against the Sri Lankan cricket team. The T20I opener between India and Sri Lanka is slated to begin today at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Umran Malik who has played three T20Is in his career will be looking forward to making his presence count on the pitch in the T20I opener in Mumbai. The right-arm paceman has taken two wickets in the shortest format of the game.
He has already impressed the fans in the cricket fraternity with his breathtaking pace and he is only just getting started in international cricket. The right-arm pacer still has a long way to go to make a name for himself.

Earlier, he made the headlines when he was asked about the possibility of breaking Pakistan’s bowling great Shoaib Akhtar’s fastest ball record. To which, Umran Malik sensibly answered that he is pretty much focusing on getting his line and lengths right.
He made it clear that he wants to deliver the goods for Team India. Meanwhile, during an interview with News24 Sports, Umran Malik picked the best shot of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul.
The youngster said he loves Virat Kohli’s cover drive, Rohit Sharma’s pull shot and KL Rahul’s flick shot. The aforementioned players are not listed in the upcoming three-match T20I series against the Lankans.
The trio will be back in action for the three-match ODI series against the same opposition. The first ODI between India and Sri Lanka will kick off on January 10 at Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati.
On the other hand, the second ODI will kick off on January 12 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. The third and final ODI will kick off on January 15 at Greenfield International Stadium, Kerala.
