Former Indian captain Virat Kohli’s rise from the ashes has been nothing short of spectacular in international cricket. It took him over 1012 days to end his international century drought and he did it in the best way possible. He finished the Asia Cup 2022 as the leading run-scorer for India, he continued his Midas touch with the bat in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia.
The right-handed batsman churned out impressive scores by chipping in with four half-centuries throughout the tournament, piling up 296 runs and ending up as the leading run-scorer of the competition.

India’s run-scoring machine ended his ODI century drought after over 40 months by scoring his 44th century in the 50-over format. He accomplished the feat during the dead rubber against the Bangladesh cricket team recently in Chattogram.
It was also his 72nd international century in his cricketing career. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli will end this calendar year as the highest-ranked Indian batsman in the ICC Men’s ODI Player rankings.
The former Indian captain is currently eighth on the ICC Men’s ODI Player rankings with a rating of 707 whereas the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma is placed ninth with a rating of 705.
Virat Kohli will be next seen in action for the three-match ODI series against the Sri Lankan cricket team, starting on January 10 and his form and presence will be imperative for India going forward into the ICC ODI World Cup 2023.
Virat Kohli has piled up 12,471 runs in the 50-over format including 44 centuries and 64 fifties to his name at a superb batting strike rate of 93.
