India’s wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant is part of the ongoing Test series against the Bangladesh cricket team. The first of the two-match Test series is currently being played at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram.
India’s stand-in skipper KL Rahul won the toss and preferred to bat first in the Test series opener. India literally ran through a batting collapse as they lost KL Rahul, Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli for cheap scores.
However, Rishabh Pant came out to bat as he played the game with a lot of intent alongside partner Cheteshwar Pujara. The duo added 64 runs for the fourth wicket before India lost the wicket of Rishabh Pant in the 32nd over.
Rishabh Pant has a batting average of 78.50 and a strike rate of 94.72 while batting at 5 in Test cricket
Rishabh Pant was batting so well as he simply thumped Bangladeshi bowlers like a hot knife through butter. The southpaw earlier requested the BCCI to release him from the ODI squad in the three-match ODI series against the Tigers.
The left-handed wicketkeeper-batsman channelized his inner aggression by smacking six fours and two sixes to his name where he ended up scoring 46 runs before getting dismissed by Mehidy Hasan Miraz.
It is worth mentioning here that Pant has a scintillating batting average of 78.50 and a strike rate of 94.72 while batting at No.5 in Test cricket. Pant already made a name for himself as one of the top attacking batsmen in Test cricket.
He has been statistically quite impressive in numbers in red-ball cricket, a format in which he remained successful compared to the other two formats in international cricket.
The wicketkeeper-batsman has played 32 Tests so far, scoring 2169 runs at an average of 43.38. The 25-year-old has slammed five centuries and ten half-centuries to his name and has maintained a strike rate of 73.10, which is pretty good in Test cricket.

These test records will give him another lease of life in white ball cricket ( Esp T20) . The circle of jokes will continue at the expense of India. Its high time, he plays only red ball cricket.

Everyone on the Indian team has some good stats to show, but the only thing is that we are losing most of the games.
