India’s experienced cricketer Shikhar Dhawan was last seen in action during the three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe national cricket team in August. All three games of the ODI series were played at Harare Sports Club.
The Men in Blue inflicted a 3-0 whitewash on Zimbabwe cricket team under the captaincy of Shikhar Dhawan. India won the first game by 10 wickets and then followed it up with a 5-wicket win over the hosts.
The Men in Blue also went on to win the dead rubber by 13 runs as they completed a clean sweep over the hosts. The veteran cricketer Shikhar Dhawan drew plaudits for his captaincy and batting.
The experienced southpaw scored 81, 33 and 40 runs in the ODI series against Zimbabwe. Meanwhile, he will be looking forward to leading the team for the upcoming three-match ODI series against New Zealand. The series will get underway on November 25 (Friday) at Eden Park, Auckland

Meanwhile, the southpaw made a statement after becoming the skipper of Punjab Kings franchise. He said he has played finals with three franchises namely, Mumbai Indians, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals.
Speaking on the same lines, he further added that he definitely hopes to play the final and win it for Punjab Kings. PBKS are one of the few teams that haven’t won the title since the inception of the tournament.
They have made it to the finals in the IPL 2014 edition but lost to Gautam Gambhir-led Kolkata Knight Riders in the final. Shikhar Dhawan will be looking forward to leading the team from the front for PBKS.
Besides that, he is also one of the top-performing players in the history of the Indian Premier League. Having played 206 games in the IPL, he aggregated 6244 runs at an average of 35.1 including 2 centuries and 47 half-centuries.
