The whole cricket fraternity is quite busy following the eighth edition of the ICC Men’s Twenty20 World Cup 2022 tournament in Australia. The tournament has witnessed a truckload of entertaining moments, major upsets, shocks, twists and turns.
The marquee event will come to a close on November 13, Sunday at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (Melbourne). After the completion of the marquee event, there are plenty of other international fixtures coming up as well.
Meanwhile, speculations are rife that there could be a chance of a triangular ODI series featuring India, Pakistan and Australia. Yes, the cricket fraternity may see three teams battle it amongst themselves as per recent reports.
India versus Pakistan match to be played in Australia as per latest reports
In case the triangular ODI series doesn’t happen, then we might see a possibility of India locking horns with Pakistan in the Test series in Australia, as per reports. It is well-known that both India and Pakistan haven’t played any bilateral series for more than a decade.
In fact, both teams have been meeting each other only in ICC or Asia Cup events. Their most recent meeting came during the Super 12 stage of the ICC T20 World Cup at the MCG. However, India beat Pakistan by 4 wickets in a thrilling encounter.
The report added that the cricket fraternity might witness either triangular ODI series (India vs Pakistan vs Australia) or a Test series between India and Pakistan. Earlier, England Cricket Board (ECB) came up with a proposal stating that they are interested to host the Test series between India and Pakistan in England itself.
Now, it seems Cricket Australia (CA) is also planning to make a move straightaway. However, there hasn’t been any official confirmation yet but advanced talks or discussions between the boards are still going on.
