‘This is the point at which the individual has the greatest potential to flourish’-Rohit Sharma talks about his captaincy methods and responsibilities

In a recent interview, the captain of the Indian cricket team, Rohit Sharma, discussed one of his primary responsibilities as the captain of the Men in Blue. He thinks that he must get an understanding of the capabilities and limitations of each member of the team and designate for them a specific function following the standards set by the group.

When players are provided with such clarity in their duties, Rohit believes that it is possible for them to eventually bounce back to form even if they are going through a dry spell in their performance. The 35-year-old believes that if the players concentrate on what the team needs from them rather than on how well they do individually, their performances would increase organically.

What did Rohit Sharma say?

According to a recent report by PTI, Rohit was recently asked about his philosophy as the current captain of the Indian national team. Here is what he had to say about it:

“The most important thing for me is to swiftly adapt to different people and figure out what it is that they need, as well as what their strong points are and where their weaknesses lie. This is the point at which the individual has the greatest potential to flourish because, once we have made it clear to them what the team anticipates from them, the individual will be able to work in the direction that is indicated, as well as improve his game in a variety of other ways by working on it,” said Rohit.

Rohit Sharma is aware that there is already a great deal of expectation on the players who represent India to perform well in their matches. Therefore, as captain, he makes an effort, together with the team management, to maintain a laid-back attitude in the locker room.

Additionally, Rohit emphasized the significance of the closeness of the team by stating:

“As the captain of the team, it is of the utmost importance to me that we cultivate an atmosphere for the players in which they do not have the impression that they are operating in a particularly high-pressure situation. We do our best to foster an atmosphere in which the guys on our team can relax, laugh, and take pleasure in each other’s company, and we attempt to make that environment available to them.”
