Here Is The Reason Why Rishabh Pant Might Not Have Hit 6th Consecutive 4 Off David Willey’s Bowling In 3rd ODI Against England

The three-match ODI series between the Indian cricket team and the England cricket team is now in the history books. The Men in Blue won the series by 2-1, courtesy of a fantastic batting performance from Rishabh Pant in the series decider which took place yesterday at Old Trafford.

The England cricket team set a 260-run target for the visitors in the final ODI. At one stage, it looked like the Indian team would lose the match because they were down to 38/3 in the ninth over. But the duo of Hardik Pandya and Rishabh Pant stitched up a special partnership for the fourth wicket to save the day for the Indian cricket team.

Glad I helped my team cross the line today. I always enjoy playing in England. Just enjoying the wicket and the atmosphere here is wonderful. I’ll keep doing whatever I can from my side to enjoy. The more you play the more experience you get and as a player you keep improving day by day,” Pant said after winning the Man of the Match award.

While Pandya scored 71 runs off 55 balls, Pant registered his maiden ODI ton to help the Indian cricket team win the match by five wickets. Soon after completing his century, Pant switched to total attack mode and relentlessly attacked David Willey in the 42nd over.

Pant smashed five back-to-back fours off the first five deliveries, but he decided to take a single off the last ball. Fans wondered why he did not hit the sixth four, and some fans on social media had the answer to it.

Did Rishabh Pant want to give England a perfect reply?

England’s Joe Root helped his team win the fifth Test against India last month with a reverse sweep. Pant attempted a reverse sweep off Root in Tests and got out. So it seems like Pant wanted to finish things off in style with a reverse sweep, and incidentally, Joe was the bowler.
