The Gujarat Titans captain Hardik Pandya has confessed that he misses his long-time buddy Kieron Pollard at his new IPL team and he jokingly said in a video released by the social media handles of Gujarat Titans that he is hoping Pollard somehow comes to his team.
When Hardik Pandya and Kieron Pollard were at Mumbai Indians together, they formed quite a fearsome and destructive lower middle-order batting pair, which was capable of winning the game for Mumbai in any situation.
However, the pair are separated now and while Hardik has continued to enjoy great success in the IPL as the captain of Gujarat Titans with his team at the top of the table with 8 wins in 10 games, Mumbai Indians are languishing at the bottom of the table with 8 losses in 9 games. Pollard personally hasn’t had a great time with the bat either.
Mumbai Indians have still not dropped Kieron Pollard from playing XI despite his indifferent form
While Mumbai Indians have still not dropped Kieron Pollard from the playing XI despite his shaky form this season, it’s very much possible that with Tim David around now and with some of the other young batsmen in Mumbai’s ranks, Mumbai might actually release Pollard next season, if the former Windies captain doesn’t find his form in the remaining games of the season.
So, Hardik’s wish of having Pollard at Gujarat Titans might come true the way things are going right now. The Mumbai Indians fans though wouldn’t want that and they would rather want Pollard to find his form and cement his position in the Mumbai Indians XI again because when Pollard is in full flow, there is hardly any batsman on the T20 circuit who is more dangerous than him.
Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians will go head to head for the first time this IPL later today.
